Laptops and chargers
Water damage, dead screens, worn batteries, or a charger left at home.
Cameras

Glasses

Before you hand it over
- Back up your phone or laptop first, and stay while they work if you can: most small repairs take an hour or two.
- Agree the price before work starts, and ask whether the new part is original or a copy. Original parts cost more but last.
- Ask for a receipt that names the part and any warranty on it.
- There's no Apple Store in Ethiopia, and brand service centres move often. For Samsung, check Samsung's support page before you go.
- Shoe or bag broken? The listros, the shoe shiners on every corner, stitch soles and straps cheaply, and any tailor can replace a zip.
